Let’s Talk About : Legend of The Blue Sea
Joon-Jae (Lee Min-Ho) is a smooth talking, very good looking conman with magician like abilities. He works with Nam-Doo (Lee Hee-Joon) and Tae-O (Shin Won-Ho) to scam people of their money. One day when Joon-Jae travels abroad and stays at an ocean-side resort. In the meantime, Sim Chung (Jun Ji-Hyun) is swept up in a tidal wave and washed ashore near the ocean-side resort where she snuck into the room where Joon-Jae is staying. From there on, their relationship start to deepen but little do they know how deeply their pasts are actually interwoven to each other.

The teaser for this show is very inviting with it’s pretty scenery and cinematography. I mean, innocent, beautiful mermaid meets hot con-artist, what not to love? I start off this drama very excited and it is true, it does live up to the hype, kinda. But honestly, I don’t know, I honestly expected the climax to be more powerful, to have more of an “umph” to it, I was waiting for the whole thing to go down with a bang but it’s just disappointing. This is one of the shows that has everything going on for them, the unique plot, the talented actors and actresses, it was set up for awesomeness however it turns out to be just another disappointment.

This show is a real flop to me knowing how I have been anticipating so hardcore for this drama. Let me be honest, I have this weird setting in my brain that anything Lee Min Ho is guaranteed a high rating drama because honestly, so far, it has been. Don’t get me wrong, this drama is still good, it’s funny and romantic. You’ll love the exchange between the two, how Joon-Jae gets jealous, and how possessive-agressive Sim-Chung can be, however there is just no chemistry. Just two good-looking actor and actress paired together. Jun Ji-Hyun can act really well but there is just a feeling that she is way too mature to act as the Immature and feather-headed Sim Chung.

It is, in all still a good drama, maybe I just set the bar too high with the hopes that two star actor and actress, Lee Min-Ho and Jun Ji-Hyun, would be able to make this drama an unforgettable masterpiece when it ended up being just okay.
