1. The Couple Next Door
You never know what’s happening on the other side of the wall.
Your neighbour told you that she didn’t want your six-month-old daughter at the dinner party. Nothing personal, she just couldn’t stand her crying.
Your husband said it would be fine. After all, you only live next door. You’ll have the baby monitor and you’ll take it in turns to go back every half hour.

Your husband said it would be fine. After all, you only live next door. You’ll have the baby monitor and you’ll take it in turns to go back every half hour.
Your daughter was sleeping when you checked on her last. But now, as you race up the stairs in your deathly quiet house, your worst fears are realized. She’s gone.
You’ve never had to call the police before. But now they’re in your home, and who knows what they’ll find there.
What would you be capable of, when pushed past your limit?
Thoughts
I am usually more to the romance and flowers kind of girl, and I rarely ever read thriller because not only it scared the crap out of me when I read it, but also, when it is good, I can’t stop reading it. And all of a sudden, just because of me reading one thriller book, my mind would go into “detective mode” and start suspecting everything and everyone.
But just by reading the summary of this book, I think I am going to give this one a try. Better yet, because this book is a stand alone and not a series, I don’t have to wait for all the books to come out before I start reading. I can just go and devour this book right away. And from what I have seen, there are some mixed reviews about this book, but most of it are positive. So yes, I will definitely try this book out and I’ll write a review on what I think about the book when I am done reading it.
2. Lady Midnight ( The Dark Artifices series)

In a secret world where half-angel warriors are sworn to fight demons, parabatai is a sacred word.
A parabatai is your partner in battle. A parabatai is your best friend. Parabatai can be everything to each other—but they can never fall in love.
Emma Carstairs is a warrior, a Shadowhunter, and the best in her generation. She lives for battle. Shoulder to shoulder with her parabatai, Julian Blackthorn, she patrols the streets of Los Angeles, where vampires party on the Sunset Strip, and faeries—the most powerful of supernatural creatures—teeter on the edge of open war with Shadowhunters. When the bodies of humans and faeries turn up murdered in the same way Emma’s parents were when she was a child, an uneasy alliance is formed. This is Emma’s chance for revenge—and Julian’s chance to get back his brother Mark, who is being held prisoner by the faerie Courts. All Emma, Mark, and Julian have to do is solve the murders within two weeks…and before the murderer targets them.
Their search takes Emma from sea caves full of sorcery to a dark lottery where death is dispensed. And each clue she unravels uncovers more secrets. What has Julian been hiding from her all these years? Why does Shadowhunter Law forbid parabatai to fall in love? Who really killed her parents—and can she bear to know the truth?

Thoughts
This is a young adult fantasy series, as I gravitate more towards that genre. Sometimes, life gets stressful and all you just want to do is just to escape for a while and explore a new fantasy world, then this series is definitely for you. I adore Cassandra for her writing skill, for her ability to just wipe clear my surroundings and build a totally brand new world around me just by her words alone.
As you can already tell, I am a big fan of Cassandra Clare. I love her books, since I started reading Clockwork Angel, I have made it my mission in life to read every single book that she write. And God help me, but I am so freaking excited when I see her releasing a new series!
This book is a trilogy and the last installment is scheduled to be released in 2019. And you know me, I hate waiting. I can’t start reading a series knowing that there will be more to come and the fact that I have to wait a year or more for them. I would rather wait for all of the books to come out first, then devour it at all once. I can’t wait until I finally get to read this book!

It started out like any other morning on the train.
Until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle.
He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world.
Who did the stuck-up suit think he was…God?
Actually, he looked like a God. That was about it.When his stop came, he got up suddenly and left. So suddenly, he dropped his phone on the way out.
I might have picked it up.
I might have gone through all of his photos and called some of the numbers.
I might have held onto the mystery man’s phone for days―until I finally conjured up the courage to return it.
When I traipsed my ass across town to his fancy company, he refused to see me.
So, I left the phone on the empty desk outside the arrogant jerk’s office.
I might have also left behind a dirty picture on it first though.
I didn’t expect him to text back.
I didn’t expect our exchanges to be hot as hell.
I didn’t expect to fall for him―all before we even met.
The two of us couldn’t have been any more different.
Yet, you know what they say about opposites.
When we finally came face to face, we found out opposites sometimes do more than attract―we consumed each other.
Nothing could have prepared me for the ride he took me on. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for where I’d wind up when the ride was over.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Yes. Yes. And Yes.
After reading through the reviews, almost everyone who has read this stand alone book gave it a good 4 out of 5 stars, that is when I am convinced that I am totally going to read this book. We all need those hot and steamy read every now and then. And I must admit that guys who wear suit and knows what they are doing are the hottest.
I have always loved an angsty yet hot yet adorable novel and Stuck-Up Suit seems like it. This book seems like one of those books that will get me swooning and going head over heels for the characters in the books. And I am totally ready for the ride.
The couple next door seems to be an interesting book, would keep you hooked up. Would wait for your review on it before getting it.
I know right? It seems that way to me too. I'll definitely read that one soon and post a review regarding the book.
Thank you for stopping by! xx
saya suka baca novel macam ni…tapi sekarang dah tak de masa nak baca…baru nak baca anak2 dah kacau…tunggu anak besar sikit, nak mula baca balik…
"Lady Midnight" seems to be some kind of a ill-fated love story, I like reading these kind of love story. I like book series, too (even I'm an impatient reader).
It does seems like an ill-fated love story now that you have mentioned it. I already bought the first book but still am waiting for all the series to come out before I start reading all of it in one go ahah
Looks like it's a great book! Let's read up!
I don't read nearly enough anymore. I am trying to learn German so when I read I read Harry potter in German to my boyfriend who is german. I need to read more English. Will look into these for the future 😀
Wow that is so cool! I have been thinking of learning German myself but backtracked when I realized just how difficult it is ahaha
Oh gosh, reading these excerpts, I so wish I could read them all! But I am so busy that I can't find the time to read anymore. 🙁
It's time I log in Amazon and buy some books :D. Thank you so much for the recommendations.
Of course! Let me know how it goes if you decided to read any of them!
I always love getting book ideas! Not sure I could do the thriller? Like you, they scare the crap out of me!! But, the romance…yep!
The couple next door seem interesting but it kind of scares me since im a mom with a wild imagination! LOL! Lady Midnight -not really sure with this but Stuck-Up Suit would probably what ill pick first out of these 3! Haha!

Chrissie
Fun read, I will definitely share with someone that would love this too.
Wow, so many thrillers to read, however, the book couple next door seems too the best to read among all.
its a nice read. thanks for sharing I should buy the book
That book strikes me as being strongly influenced by True Blood…?
Which one?
I am still trying to re-develop my reading hobby. Back then when i'm still a student, i love reading so much. But nowadays don't really have time
This seems to be an interesting one. Would love to read
I'm obsessed with thrillers so book #1 sounds really interesting! I've been looking for a good thriller to read but haven't found any recent ones that have a unique concept like this. I'll definitely give this a read!
These look so interesting! I totally agree that I'm also more of romance person… that first book sounds scary! Hopefully they all have happy endings haha. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about them… I think I need a trip to the library soon!
Wow, the couple next door seems like a good read!
These are definitely a few book to look into. I am not familiar with any of them but they definitely look interesting 🙂
I love a good thriller book. The couple next door seems to be a book that I would enjoy.
I'm usually more into fantasy books:) But a good thriller now and again is awesome! I do have to sacrifice some of my sleep when I get to the anxious parts though:P thanks for sharing:)
This is great timing. I've finished my last book and am on the hunt for a new read! Fan of thrillers so I may look into The Couple Next Door!
Adding The Couple Next Door to my tbr and I loved, loved, loved Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows. If you enjoy thrillers, I'd recommend Cry Blue Murder by Kim Kane. That book scared the living shit out of me. The murderer used to kidnap girls and make them weave blankets of wool and hair of his previous victims and later wrapped the girls' bodies in those blankets after killing them.
Oh I love book reviews, somehow there are just too many great stories & I don't mean it in a bad way. Hope books will never be banned!! Really appreciate them. 🙂

No I haven't. Is it thriller too?
Haven't read book in a long time! It is time for me to pick up more fiction reads 🙂
Thanks for the reviews, I think i am going to pick up the Stuck-Up Suit.
I love a good book and these three look amazing.
The Couple Next Door sounds interesting! But I agree with you that these kinds of books give me the creeps and yet I would still finish it anyway because the plot is interesting. hihi.
This kind of novel definitely will catch my hear too! Do you know any website where we can read english book online?
hmm I am not sure cause I usually buy it from amazon. But I think you can just look up the title and add read online after it
The couple next door sounds interesting. And the title is really catchy 🙂
eeek, the titles all sounds like some horror novel! come to think of it, I have not been reading any proper novels ever since I came Singapore 4 years ago. Last time around 1 book per day in Malaysia… –Joysofyz
