Billie Eilish : The Girl Who Continues To Bless With Her Angel Voice

Okay, I know this blog is primarily about books and movies, but I just can’t help it anymore. I have been contemplating to make this post for a while, and finally decided to pull the trigger and do it. Simply because I adore this girl and her music, and her songs has been going round and round in my head for the better part of this week.
I’m not sure if you have heard of this girl before, but Billie Eilish is an American singer/songwriter whose song “Ocean Eyes” went viral after it was released on her Soundcloud in 2016. I have never heard of her name, nor any of her songs before late this year, and since then I have been addicted.
For someone who is so young – Billie is 16 years old as of 2018 – to be pushed into the spotlight and fame must not have been easy. It has been remarked before that most of her songs carry a sad or a depressing vibe than most pop songs. When asked about it though, her response was that “she doesn’t want to make music based off only her own experiences. But, she wants to make music so that anyone of any age could relate.”
Despite the darker tone to most of her music, I must admit, that is what pulls me into her songs and music time and time again. When I first found out about her music, I think I had her whole album on repeat for a week straight. There is just something extraordinary about the quality of her voice; the way her breath shape, caress and bring out the feeling of melancholy in a matter of 4 minutes or less is mind staggering.
With her being so young however, it is obvious that with most of the people she meet, there are a big chance that they are going to bring up her age. To that, Billie simply says : “Usually if nobody asks me my age I’m not gonna say it. I feel like people judge you on your age when it’s like, I could be any age. Of course someone older has gone through more than maybe somebody who’s 15. (Maybe not, but probably.) But that doesn’t mean they haven’t felt that pain or that love. You can be any age to feel anything, really. So when someone says, ‘Oh well she’s young she’s never been through anything,’ I’m like, ‘Think again honey, I have.’”
A Simple Biography of Billie :
Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell was born in December 18, 2001. Because Eilish was raised by a family of musicians and actors, she started writing and singing her own songs from a very young age. And since Billie was homeschooled, she has a lot of time to pursue her interest for music, taking after her older brother Finneas, who at the time was already writing, performing and producing his own songs with his band.
Following her rapid climb to fame, not long after her debut with Ocean Eyes, Billie released a few other singles such as : bellyache, watch, copycat and bored. As Billie continues to earn more fame and be more well-known, she collaborated with an American singer Khalid for a song called “Lovely”, which was released and added to the soundtrack for the second season of 13 Reasons Why. And as of October 17, 2018, Eilish released another hit single called “When The Party’s Over” which eventually becomes her highest-charting song that she has ever produced.
