It’s December! We Have Made It! –– More Books To Celebrate The End of 2020

Guys guys guys! It’s December! We have made it––in semi one piece––through 2020 and it is high time that we celebrate! With what you wonder? Silly goose, celebrate with more books of course!

In my 22 years of being a smol bean on this planet, 2020 might be the first time where I don’t spend Christmas and New Years with family. While it is not exactly how I would have imagine me spending the end of the year 2020, I’m not exactly complaining either.

I think for a lot of us, 2020 has been one hell of a year filled with a lot of ups and downs. It has been draining as well as tiring––maybe also rewarding, as well. Therefore personally, I find it apt to spend the last few days of it in my own company, to look back on my year and see if––and how much––I have changed throughout the year, surrounded with a cup of hot cocoa and good books.

While this year’s ending migh be a little different and less chaotic compared to all the years before, for some reason, I find myself looking forward to it. For some quiet and peace, as well as some time spent alone in my own company.

Publish Date : December 1st, 2020

In this ambitious survey of the last century of American history, Oluo answers that question by pinpointing white men’s deliberate efforts to subvert women, people of color, and the disenfranchised. Through research, interviews, and the powerful, personal writing for which she is celebrated, Oluo investigates the backstory of America’s growth, from immigrant migration to our national ethos around ingenuity, from the shaping of economic policy to the protection of sociopolitical movements that fortify male power. In the end, she shows how white men have long maintained a stranglehold on leadership and sorely undermined the pursuit of happiness for all.
